The Light Beings are otherworldly spirits that take presumably to heaven the recently deceased, whom have lived a good life. They are first seen when they initially try to take Sam Wheat after his death at the hands of Willy Lopez. However upon trying to stay and figure out why he died, he instinctively rejects their offer causing them to depart and in turn closing Heaven's portal. The Hospital Ghost describes them while giving pointers to Sam regarding his own death, while they witness another person dying in the hospital and being taken away by them. The ghost remarks how lucky the person is that he wasn't taken by "The Other Ones." When Willy and Carl die and Molly is finally safe from them, the beings come back and not only take Sam to heaven, but show him to Molly so he could say goodbye.
